Check the exact size table and remaining display limits before treating black bars as a fault.
Built-in beta sizes
These are the project’s menu labels, including its broad 21:9 classification. Wider modes use Hor+ to expand the horizontal view rather than crop a normal 16:9 frame into a zoomed view. The taller 16:10 modes keep the horizontal field of view and reveal more above and below.
Sizes listed in 2.4.0 and the pinned ultrawide documentation
On a narrow screen, scroll the table horizontally to read every column.

Enable a built-in size and keep a return path
Record the current resolution
Keep the current Render resolution value. Native is the project’s 1080p return option; leave your engine-rate choice separate.
Choose the offered size
On launcher Home or Performance, select the exact width/height and beta aspect label under Render resolution. Save and press PLAY. In-game, open Insert or R3 + L2 → Performance → Render resolution, then use Apply and restart.
Check gameplay and a cutscene separately
Check character proportions, newly visible side/top content, HUD/QTE placement and video borders. A stretched startup logo or a 16:9 HUD layout is a documented limitation, not proof that the gameplay view did not change.
Restore native if the result is unsuitable
Choose Native in Render resolution, save and launch again, or Apply and restart from the running-game menu. Confirm the new session is back at the chosen native mode.

What beta support still leaves visible
The documentation’s validation is scoped to its reference build and hardware. Report your exact render resolution, GPU, driver and what is cropped, stretched or missing if your result differs. For orange textures, corner rendering or bright white areas, use the graphics symptom table, rather than assuming every visual problem is an aspect-ratio issue.
- The main-menu darkening covers only the central 16:9 region; outer parts can remain lighter.
- QTE prompts and some HUD elements retain a 16:9 layout. The sides may briefly flash black when a camera sequence returns to gameplay.
- Startup logos can stretch to the full screen. Pre-rendered videos retain 16:9 proportions: side bars on wide screens, top/bottom bars on 16:10.
- At 32:9, objects near the edges can appear stretched because of the wide rectilinear field of view.

When the older Ultrawide mod applies
Before 2.4.0, the project’s Ultrawide mod supplies resolution patches through the mod system. Put its ZIP or correctly structured folder in the selected mods directory, enable it, then select the added Render resolution. Unticking that mod removes its resolution and returns the selection to native. The mod guide covers priority and safe disable behavior.
The older 2.2.0 one-click installer is a version-specific route, not a requirement for 2.4.1. Do not stack it onto a current installation just to obtain sizes that are already built in. As with other render-resolution patches, the separate texture-fix patch is replaced rather than stacked.
